Dealer Module Web App
What is dealer web module?

On the surface Web Module is a simple CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) application, but under the hood it is an extension of Soft Tech’s V6 desktop application.

V6 is mission critical software that drives our clients’ businesses, but it was never designed to be a web application.

The original design intent for Web Module was to provide a simple interface where a dealer could choose from a suite of preconfigured frames and create a quote without needing to understand the intricacies of a manufacturer’s products.

Background and problem
  • V6 (the current desktop solution) is too complicated for external sales
  • V6 is too expensive for external sales
  • V6 is too intensive to deliver on the web
  • Our clients (windows and doors manufacturers) need a portal for their dealers to be able to quote and order their products.
Users interviews and competitors analysis
Interview Goals
The primary objective of these interviews was to understand how dealers establish connections with both end customers and manufacturers. Additionally, the goal was to identify the strengths and potential of their current solutions, as well as to gain an understanding of their challenges, pain points, preferences, and workflows. This was crucial for creating a list of essential features and prioritizing them effectively.
Typical Questions
  • Can you walk me through the typical process you follow when engaging with a potential customer, from initial contact to finalizing a sale?
  • What are the most common challenges you have when discussing products with customers?
  • How do you currently create quotes for customers?
  • Can you describe the tools or software you use, and any pain points you encounter during this process?
Competitors analysis
